Vacuum packaging can protect many granular products well, but it is not a universal answer. Some materials are too fine, too abrasive, too oily, too irregular, or too fragile to run well without special adjustments. Buyers should understand those limits before approving the line.

Film selection is one common constraint. Thin films may puncture, textured surfaces may leak slowly, and some pouch structures may not tolerate sharp product edges. Speed is another limit, because faster running can increase product movement, residue, and seal risk.

Maintenance and operating cost also matter. Fine dust, abrasion, and product residue can shorten the life of pumps, seals, and wear parts when the application is not matched well to the machine.

For forming equipment, the real buying question is whether the shaped package adds value beyond appearance. A formed tray or cavity can improve presentation and product positioning, but it also adds material behavior, mold design, and sealing requirements that have to be managed properly.

That is why buyers often focus on repeatable forming quality rather than on cycle speed alone. If cavity depth varies, sheet heating is uneven, or sealing becomes unstable after a mold change, the package may lose its advantage very quickly in routine production.

Another useful check is how the formed pack behaves after handling. Rigid or semi-rigid packages are often chosen because they present neatly, yet they still need enough structural reliability for stacking, transport, and retail movement. A well-formed sample on the machine table is only the start of that evaluation.

In practice, the most useful baseline includes material type, forming depth, seal result, cut quality, and a note on package stability after handling. That record usually makes later process tuning far easier.
